Bitcoin ETFs hit $300M inflow

After a six-day streak of net inflows starting July 5, U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs set a new record with cumulative total net inflows of $15.81 billion, per SoSoValue.

The funds have gained over $1 billion in assets during the six-day streak. Friday, the most successful day since June 5, saw $310 million in net inflows for spot bitcoin ETFs.

The inflows were primarily driven by BlackRock's IBIT, the largest spot bitcoin ETF, which gained $120 million on Friday. Fidelity's FBTC followed closely with $115 million.

IMF reports emerging market capital inflows rebound to levels last seen in 2018

On Friday, the International Monetary Fund reported that gross capital inflows into emerging markets, excluding China, reached $110 billion in 2023, amounting to 0.6% of their economic output—the highest level since 2018.

According to the IMF's External Sector Report, the findings highlight resilience in emerging markets amidst increased U.S. interest rates, which have attracted funds to dollar assets, shedding new light on currencies, capital flows, and financial imbalances.

The Producer Price Index (PPI) briefly alarmed this week's positive outlook, following yesterday's CPI report, indicating an unexpected rise in core inflation at the wholesale level. Bonds initially reacted with concern but swiftly regained stability.
